VS 582 is a self-levelling smoothing screed with excellent mouldability for laying to falls. A flexible, self-levelling, mouldable, rapid-set, cementitious, fibre-reinforced surface filler, with 2-in-1 formulation for simultaneous levelling and creation of falls. Excellent workability and mouldability because you also have the flexibility of adding water.
It’s strong, with a compressive strength after 28 days: approx. 35 N/mm² (as levelling coat laid to falls), dries quickly and is pumpable!
With numerous tricky floor levels and coverings, holes, steps and uneven surfaces, and a quick turnaround needed, a complete renovation was in order. See the video above for the complete overhaul and renovation.
Sopro EPG 1522 Epoxy primer was utilised in this project as an adhesion promoter on smooth (Terrazzo) substrates, as a liquid damp proof membrane in areas where moisture-sensitive floor finishes were going to be installed. The product was also used to fill cracks in the existing substrates and change of substrates. As an extra precaution, Sopro PG-X Armour Mesh was installed before the installation of Sopro VS 582 levelling screed to improve crack-bridging performance and stress relief.
We supplied our CASEA Sudanit 280 Binderto our Smet Supported Partner, Fast Floor Screed Ltd. The industry experts pump-applied 3,500 m2 Südanit 280 Alpha Hemihydrate Screed using their Mobile Screed Factory in the delivery of the flooring solution in these new apartment blocks. This was installed quickly and efficiently, completing the flooring solution for the entire project in 6 days.
That’s an incredible achievement of just one crew – meaning no delay for follow-on trades.
This CE-marked, self-smoothing, self-levelling screed is the most technologically advanced floor screed available, complying with the performance requirements of EN 13813. Südanit 280 Alpha Hemihydrate Screed’s advanced composition means it reacts with water quickly – providing consistent, reliable drying characteristics and considerably faster drying times – enabling follow-on trades to proceed without delay.
The automatic production process ensures materials are precisely weighed, fed to the mixing bin, and into the pump for easy, mess-free installation. This ensures the Fast Floor Screed Mobile Screed Factory produces Sudanit 280 Alpha Hemihydrate floor screed to a consistently high quality. Have a look at Fast Floor Screed’s past projects.
Did you know…? This Fast Floor Screed Alpha Hemihydrate Screed can be installed in a heated floating-floorscreed construction, uniquely, with the commissioned underfloor heating system up and running at 25°C?!
Did you know…? Fast Floor Screed Alpha Hemihydrate Screed can be installed with baseTherm® Poured Floor Insulation. This ensures efficient heat transfer, making it an ideal choice for both baseTherm® and underfloor heating (UFH) systems in both new builds and retrofit projects across Ireland.

SMET’s bauprocalc products are CE-marked, factory-produced hydraulic hardening skim coat plasters and render based on lime, specially designed for hand and machine application, produced to DIN EN 998-1. bauprocalc KG and bauprocalc 830 contribute to a healthy internal atmosphere.
They are an excellent alternative to plaster and renders containing gypsum or patent cement which are too strong and have less vapour permeable qualities.
They are ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and rooms where high humidity levels are expected. bauprocalc KG produces a mortar that is softer than cement mortar. After the initial set, stability and strength gradually build up over time, allowing enough flexibility to cope with minor settlement or movement in the building during this period, thereby reducing the risk of cracking.
Good vapour permeability performance allows an unhindered transference of excess internal moisture through the building to the outside, thereby contributing significantly to a balanced and healthy internal atmosphere.
SMET NHL binders are particularly suited for ecological new builds, conservation, restoration, and preservation works. The products’ special composition allows mortars to breathe and permits constant hygrometric exchange between the substrate and the environment.
