SMET continue to delight with innovative screed solutions to local redevelopments

Smet Building Products Ltd feature of this month’s Journal of the Society of Architects, Perspective Magazine 2017.

This January February edition 2017 highlights Queen’s University new Law Library building.  In this transformation of the historical building, SMET was delighted to have supplied principal contractor Felix O’Hare & Co Ltd with Rapidur® B5 Rapid Drying Screed Binder for the flooring element of the redevelopment.  Particularly useful for fast-track or tightly scheduled screed laying, Rapidur® B5 is a special polymer-modified binder for use in rapid-set cement screeds allowing early flooring installation, based on DIN 18 560. It’s suitable for producing grade CT-C25-F4 cement screeds to DIN 13 813 already after 24 hours.

Smet Supported Partner, B Doherty Screeding expertly laid the screed on behalf of Felix O’Hare across the redevelopment.  Further detail of this project and Brendan’s recent work can be seen by clicking previous link.

The QUB Law Building redevelopment consisted of 7,657m2, 10 storey facility, new school of law and student social facilities.  The project brings cherence and quality to the northen side of the Queen’s campus.
