We supplied our Smet Supported partner, Screed Fast Ltd, with 1,600m2 SMET LiteFlo® Lightweight Flowing Screed for their project in Shoreditch, East London, which was used across multiple levels.
Screed Fast Ltd says, “The initial works involved preparing the floors ready for screeding, including perimeter infills, concrete works over steel areas, and forming details around openings. Following the preparation works, screeding is now being carried out using Smet Building Products Limited SMET LiteFlo® Lightweight Flowing Screed. Great progress from the team so far.”
This lightweight screed is ideal for renovation projects and where loading may be an issue. This is a high-quality pumpable, factory-produced, CE-marked, self-levelling screed based on calcium sulphate. German-made SMET LiteFlo® is unique because it’s the first pumpable lightweight flowing screed ever available.
Made from specially selected aggregates, it’s 30% lighter than even conventional flowing screeds and can be laid in reduced thicknesses. The screed offers a high yield, 43kg per m2 @ 40mm.
Innovative SMET LiteFlo® is absolutely ideal for application in high-rise buildings, over timber-suspended floors, timber-frame houses, and in new builds and renovations. It’s made from specially selected aggregates, which makes it 30% lighter than conventional flowing screeds and 70% lighter than sand and cement, meaning less material is required per m2. LiteFlo® complies with EN 13813: 2002, is CE-marked, and is available in 27 kg bags or bulk silos.

This recent Public Toilet project, delivered in Newcastle, Co. Down, in collaboration with main contractor CDM Ireland, and Eugene Davis Tiling, highlights the quality and performance of the systems we supply.

It’s strong, with a compressive strength after 28 days: approx. 35 N/mm² (as levelling coat laid to falls), dries quickly and is pumpable!With numerous tricky floor levels and coverings, holes, steps and uneven surfaces, and a quick turnaround needed, a complete renovation was in order. Sopro EPG 1522 Epoxy primer was utilised in this project as an adhesion promoter on smooth (Terrazzo) substrates, as a liquid damp proof membrane in areas where moisture-sensitive floor finishes were going to be installed. The product was also used to fill cracks in the existing substrates and change of substrates. As an extra precaution, Sopro PG-X Armour Mesh was installed before the installation of Sopro VS 582 levelling screed to improve crack-bridging performance and stress relief.
