Bauprotec RHS is a CE marked, factory produced highly polymer-modified render, specially designed for hand and machine application produced to EN 998-1: 2010. The unique properties of this render makes it suitable for a multitude of purposes such as: adhesive bridge/key coat on difficult substrates or adhesive and fibreglass reinforcement base coat on insulation and cement particle boards. Final façade choice, Onexit Universal is a single coat, high quality, weather resistant render – produced to EN 998-1: 2010. Onexit Universal’s properties, such as: low maintenance, through-coloured and high yield, along with the superior technical support provided by SMET, were the key factors in selecting this façade system. DescriptionBauprotec 850 M Render was selected for the refurbishment, of the existing Lidl store located in Enniskillen. Smet Supported Partner, PJ Treacy Building & Sons Ltd, spray applied the Lightweight CE marked Lime Cement Render, produced to EN 998-1: 2003, internally and to the external facade. Bauprotec 850 M is manufactured from a controlled blend of selected aggregates, lightweight aggregates, cement, polymers, fibres and other components to give a high-quality weather resistant rendering product which is suitable for use in external rendering and internal plastering. The product’s special composition allows the product to breathe and also permits constant hygrometric exchange between the substrate and the environment. The special render properties; light weight, low thermal conductivity, high yield and superior technical back up provided from Smet to their Supported Partners, were the key factors in choosing Smet Building Products as the provider in delivering CASEAs high-quality product. |

| Scottish Borders Council was seeking assistance in interpreting the specification provided for the 2,500 m2 of hard landscaping on the new Craigmillar Library and Council Office development In Edinburgh. The £10m development constitutes part of the overall Craigmillar £250m Masterplan regeneration project. Smet Building Products was able to advise them and provide a solution that was both cost effective and ensured the project remained compliant with the requirements of BS 7533. The resulting project opened in 2013 amid great media coverage with new jobs created, a café and technologically advanced public library. SMET demonstrates, once again, best-practice in Streetscape partnerships. | |
